MELBOURNE has made three changes for Round 5, with a star midfielder and two debutants set to take on West Coast.

Lily Mithen, youngster Brenna Tarrant and former Crow Sarah Perkins have all been named in Sunday’s final team, replacing Lauren Pearce (knee soreness), Meg Downie (illness) and Gabby Colvin (omitted).

Mithen, who has overcome an ankle injury, will bolster the Demons’ midfield in her first game of the season, while Tarrant and Perkins will be eager to impress in their Demon debuts.

As announced, Perkins, who began training with the Demons over the summer, was elevated to Melbourne’s list due to player availability. The forward gains her opportunity in the red and blue after Melbourne was short in naming a 23-player squad this week.

Having been drafted to the Dees last year, Tarrant will also get her shot at senior level. The 18-year-old was an emergency for the past two weeks and will be hungry to make the most of her opportunity at Casey Fields.
