MELBOURNE has welcomed young forward Zane Duursma to the club after a successful trade with North Melbourne in the 2026 Continental Tyres Trade Period.

This deal sees the Demons receive Duursma and pick No.52 in the 2026 AFL Draft, while North Melbourne receive picks No.33 and 49.

Standing at 190cm, Duursma has kicked 28 goals across 38 games.

Melbourne Football Club List Manager Tim Lamb expressed the club's excitement to have Duursma join the Demons.

“Zane is a really exciting young player who we believe has an enormous amount of upside,” Lamb said.

"He is extremely skilful, has terrific athleticism and can play in multiple roles.

“He is super talented and we rated him very highly in his draft year. We have followed him closely across the last three seasons and we are very confident his best football is ahead of him."

The exciting prospect earned himself a mark of the year nomination in his debut year, recognising his strong aerial ability.

Duursma played the first 16 games of North Melbourne’s season and kicked three goals on multiple occasions.

The 21-year-old joins the Demons after three seasons with North Melbourne, previously selected with pick No.4 at the 2023 AFL National Draft.
