Selected with Melbourne’s first pick in the 2022 National Draft, Jefferson arrived as a mobile key forward fresh off a standout U18 season where he kicked seven goals in a state game against Western Australia. After a year of development with Casey, he signed a two-year extension to remain with the club until 2026. Jefferson made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2025, kicking a goal with his first kick after just 16 seconds - the fastest first kick and goal on record. He went on to play seven senior games in his debut year.
