FOURTH-year forward Matthew Jefferson has showcased his potential with an eye-catching three-goal Casey Fields match simulation performance.

Jefferson burst out of the blocks to kick the first two goals of the game and provided a strong target around the ground.

A one-handed pluck running back towards goal in the third of three match play periods capped off a promising afternoon in front of the sticks.

It was an afternoon of strong forward play for the Demons, with Bayley Fritch bringing his kicking boots, kicking accurately from set shots on his way to a game-leading four majors.

Jacob van Rooyen was clunking grabs as he hit up to the wings, providing a productive linking target and handing off some certain goals to teammates.

The crafty Bailey Laurie returned to action from a hand fracture, with his fast feet setting up his teammates as he weaved through traffic.

In the middle of the ground Harvey Langford had a strong third term after spending the first two periods on the wing, bursting from stoppage to kick a powerful snap goal to highlight his midfield capabilities.

Tom Sparrow continued to demonstrate his defensive prowess, chasing down Latrelle Pickett for a highlight run-down tackle.

Latrelle Pickett produced highlights of his own, with a dancing effort past three opponents in the forward pocket a mouth-watering highpoint from the action.

His cousin Kysaiah Pickett was also at his damaging best, also kicking three goals including a flying mid-air soccer goal from nothing.

Pickett’s centre clearance work was dynamic, with his lightning pace and deft foot skills setting him apart.

Father-son Demon Kalani White had his own moment of brilliance, threading a drop punt on the run from deep in the pocket.

Xavier Taylor again looked composed in defence, with the first-year prospect and selection No.11 from November’s draft looking a likely type.

Alice Springs’ Ricky Mentha showed off his running capacity, loving the open spaces of Casey Fields as he racked up the football from half forward.

Luker Kentfield and Aidan Johnson locked horns in the ruck for much of the afternoon as injured ruck pairing Max Gawn and Tom Campbell watched on from the sidelines.

There was a moment of levity late as Steven May swung forward to kick a goal, pulling out the bow and arrow celebration to mark the six points.
