The Casey Demons have made two changes to their side ahead of Saturday’s clash with Williamstown, with Rebecca Fitzpatrick and Michelle Podnecky returning to the lineup.
Podnecky’s inclusion is a significant boost for the Dees. The experienced midfielder began her season in strong form before an injury interrupted her campaign, and her return adds valuable leadership, composure and contested-ball strength around the stoppages. Fitzpatrick also comes back into the side as Casey looks to strengthen its forward stocks.
Standing in their way is a formidable Williamstown outfit that has been one of the competition’s strongest teams this season. The Seagulls have recorded a number of comprehensive victories and have suffered just one defeat, a narrow one-point loss, highlighting their consistency and ability to compete in tight contests.
For Casey, the match shapes as an important test against one of the benchmark sides in the league. Playing away from home will add another layer of difficulty, but the Dees will be eager to measure themselves against quality opposition and continue building momentum as the season progresses.
With experienced reinforcements returning and a major challenge awaiting, Casey will be looking to produce a strong four-quarter performance against a Williamstown side that has impressed throughout 2026.
This match will be played after the VFL game at DSV Stadium.
