With just 13 seconds remaining in the 1996 VFA Grand Final, Graeme Yeats slotted the winning goal in a moment that would become etched into Springvale folklore. The dramatic finish sealed a famous premiership triumph and further strengthened the club’s reputation as one of the competition’s dominant sides throughout the 1990s.

For those who were there, it remains one of the greatest moments in the history of the club. For others, it has become a story that defines what the Springvale Football Club — now the Casey Demons — built during a dominant era throughout the decade.

Now, almost three decades on, the club will celebrate that historic premiership reunion during the VFL and VFLW double-header against Essendon at Casey Fields on June 14.

The afternoon will bring together past players, officials and supporters to relive the memories of the famous 1996 premiership season. Fans will have the opportunity to hear from special guest speakers, while a panel of former players will reflect on the journey, the characters and the unforgettable moments that shaped the era.

The reunion forms part of a big day at Casey Fields, with both current Casey Demons sides taking on Essendon in a double-header celebration of the club’s past and present.

Supporters are encouraged to get involved and help celebrate one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
