MELBOURNE will have two Demons return to the selection table ahead of its first AFLW home game at Casey Fields this Saturday.

Georgia Gall and Sinead Goldrick will both be available for the Round 2 match against St Kilda.

Gall sustained a minor ankle injury during the team’s final practice match of the pre-season, while Goldrick had a slow transition back into AFLW after returning from Ireland two weeks ago, following the conclusion of the Gaelic football campaign.

The club’s AFLW High Performance Manager Josh Keily has provided an update on the duo.

“Georgia has ticked off main training last week,” Keily said.

“She’s flying this week and will be available for Saturday.

“Sinead has done well to smooth out her load and has ticked off a few running sessions now.

“She’ll full train this week with the aim to be available for selection.”

Tayla Harris will consult with an eye specialist this week to monitor her right eye following an incident during the team’s season-opener last Saturday.

“Unfortunately, Tay poked herself in the eye during a marking contest,” Keily said.

“She’ll see an ophthalmologist today and from there we’ll be making a plan.

“She’ll need to check in every day to see how it progresses, but if she does get the all-clear, then she’ll be putting her hand up to be available.”

Gab Colvin and Tahlia Gillard are both hitting targets in their returns to footy after sustaining MCL injuries during pre-season.

“Gab is pushing along nicely through her rehab, building up volume,” Keily said.

“Tahlia is looking to get out of her brace next week, and then she’ll start to build into some run tech and low-level plyos to then eventually get into some running.”

Grace Beasley is closing in on the final months of rehab from an ACL injury sustained last season.

“Grace is looking really good, she did some testing yesterday,” Keily said.

“She’s hit some good strength markers and she’ll be looking to build into some more reactive change-of-direction and one-on-one contested work.”

Denby Taylor (foot) and Jacinta Hose (back) continue to work through their respective rehab programs.
