MELBOURNE's Co-Principal Partner, Zurich Insurance, has once again made a special contribution to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) for the annual Pink Lady Match in Round 22.
Following the success of the initiative last year, Zurich is once again forgoing its logo on the player warm-up tees, creating space to honour those affected by breast cancer.
Forty-five Australians impacted by breast cancer will have their names featured on the front of the warm-up tees, replacing the traditional Zurich logo.
Additionally, Zurich has announced a $20,000 donation to BCNA as part of this initiative, which will support the vital advocacy which the organisation provides in improving outcomes for all people affected by breast cancer.
Linda Griffin, Head of Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Zurich, expressed her pride at the organisation’s continued support for BCNA.
“Zurich is incredibly proud to support this important cause for the second year in a row, after successfully raising funds and community awareness for BCNA in 2024,” Griffin said.
“Breast cancer impacts the lives of Zurich’s customers and employees in communities all around Australia.
“As we see incidence continue to rise, it is important that we continue to shine a light on this issue and recognise those who are impacted.”
Melbourne CEO, David Chippindall, expressed his thanks for Zurich for supporting such an important game in the fixture.
“This initiative is a wonderful collaboration, and we’re grateful to Zurich for supporting our long-standing partnership with BCNA and helping bring this important cause to the forefront,” Chippindall said.
“Having our AFL players wear the name of someone impacted by breast cancer offers an important opportunity to highlight the critical work that BCNA do.
“In Round 22, we’re not just playing for points – we’re playing for every person impacted by breast cancer.”
This year’s Pink Lady Match will take place on Sunday 10 August, 3.15pm at the MCG. While a sea of pink won’t form a silhouette on the hallowed turf this year, fans can showcase their own support by buying a spot in BCNA’s Virtual Pink Lady.
Supporters can also purchase their pink merchandise ahead of the game, all helping raise important funds for the organisation.
