HARVEY Langford is cementing himself as one of the young stars of the league, named in the AFL Players’ Association 22Under22 squad.
The AFLPA 22Under22, presented by Intrepid, is a fan-voted concept that recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the season.
For a player to be eligible for the squad of 40, they are required to play 50 per cent of the home-and-away season, equating to 12 matches.
Langford’s recognition comes after 19 games at the top level in what is his first year at the Dees.
The 19-year-old arrived at Melbourne during the 2024 national draft and quickly made his name known among the fanbase as an excitement machine, putting together an impressive pre-season and soon solidifying his spot in the AFL side.
Across his 19 games he’s averaged 18 disposals, kicked a total of 11 goals and has earned a Rising Star nomination.
Dees fans can now vote for Langford to make the final 22, with voting closing on Wednesday 13 August. VOTE HERE.
The final team will be announced on Wednesday 20 August.
