MELBOURNE has announced its first team of 2026 ahead of Sunday afternoon’s clash with St Kilda.
Four debutants have been named, with Jack Steele, Brody Mihocek, Changkuoth Jiath and Latrelle Pickett all set to don the red and blue for the very first time.
Sunday will also mark Steven King’s first competitive AFL match at the helm of Melbourne, ushering in a new era for the club and one that’s sure to bring plenty of energy and excitement to the contest.
Jai Culley will have the chance to cap off a positive preseason after spending a stint on the sidelines following surgery for an arm fracture.
As Season 2026 kicks off, the Demons will be looking to set the tone early when they face a St Kilda side keen to bounce back from its Opening Round loss to Collingwood.
Melbourne will unveil a new face on every line, with Brody Mihocek set to line up as a key pillar up forward after kicking 267 goals for the Pies.
Changkuoth Jiath will bring flair to the half-back line, while Jack Steele adds leadership to the midfield after captaining the Saints, who he will face for the first time since departing the club.
Latrelle Pickett, who was confirmed earlier today to be making his AFL debut, will line up alongside his cousin Kysaiah in a moment sure to excite Demon fans.
Max Heath, Tom McDonald and Jake Melksham have been listed as emergencies.
