Last Saturday the Casey Demons Football Club held the annual 'City of Casey Community Round” in conjunction with the City of Casey and their community partners.

The round looks to welcome and highlight the connections between the Casey Demons and the City of Casey and its partner clubs and associations including, AFL South East, South East Juniors, Chisholm and the Casey Demons VNL team.

The audience was treated to some wonderful guest speakers including:

  • South East Juniors Chairman - Rodney Garwood, discussed connections between the junior football clubs and benefits for them.
  • Melbourne FC Head of Women's Football - Jessie Mulholland, talking about the VFLW community involvement with local groups.
  • Melbourne FC Chief Commercial Officer - Chris Kearon, talked about the strategic partnership between the City of Casey and the Melbourne Football Club and the importance of the club's partnership with SEJ.

In what was a brilliant day for football our community groups saw a thrilling game of football in the VFL, unfortunately, Casey was pipped at the post, before the VFLW game saw our women's team being victorious.

Casey Demons General Manager, Peter Maynard, was thrilled with the turnout to the event.

"It was brilliant to have our local community groups and sporting clubs being able to join us for the day," said Maynard.

"Our partnership with the City of Casey is in place for 30 years and is very important to the  Melbourne Football Club and Casey Demons. This importance focuses on our high-performance facilities at Casey Fields, local professional and community Partnerships and the fan and brand growth for the club in one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Australia.
