The Casey Demons VFLW side suffered a 17-point loss to Williamstown in Round 8, with the final score reading 3.5 (23) to 6.4 (40) at Casey Fields.

Casey started the match well, kicking a goal in the opening quarter to stay within reach. They continued to hit the scoreboard in the second and third quarters with one goal in each, but were unable to make an impact in the final quarter, remaining on 23 points as Williamstown closed out the game.

Anna Vrsecky, Alice Robinson and Zoe Mitchell were the goal kickers for the Demons. Zoe Mitchell was also among the team’s leading ball-winners with 12 disposals and provided strong effort around the contest.

Sophie Casey and Tyler Burn led the way with 14 disposals each, while Tegan Williams, Delany Madigan and Lauren Jactzak added 11 apiece.

Although the result didn’t go their way, the Demons continued to show development and competitiveness, with several young players stepping up in key moments.

Casey stood strong and competed hard across all four quarters, showing clear signs of improvement and a determined mindset to stay in the contest. Their effort around the ball and willingness to fight until the final siren highlighted the group’s growth and resilience.
