How a week can change everything in football and for the Demons, it wasn’t in a good way.

Casey just couldn’t take control of its game against the Blues last Saturday, which at the end of the day proved costly.

This week’s opponent won’t be giving the Demons an inch either, as Port Melbourne will look to regain some form before finals. Since Casey handed the Borough its first loss back in round eight, it’s have only managed one win, with losses coming the last two weeks.

Some handy inclusions returning to the squad this week, including Melbourne defenders Brenna Tarrant and Chantel Emonson, while Laura Jonston gets another opportunity. Also back into the fold is gun midfielder Eliza West after a few weeks off.

Making way is Alison Brown, Emma Humphries and Grace Matser, with Ally Kirkwood sidelined by injury.

For the winning team, it will set up the start of its finals campaign, while the other will need to work on a few more things before the business end of the season.

The Demons are certainly becoming hunted very quickly in the VFL circles. Casey is currently undefeated and been enjoying some solid team performances.

Last week the Demons scrapped through with a one-point win over Geelong, but it certainly won’t dampen the spirits of the boys.

This week the new challenger that awaits will be the Sydney Swans. The Swans will be visiting the Casey Demon cauldron for the first time in either club’s history.

Sydney last week had a comfortable 33-point win over Collingwood at home and will be feeling confident of coming down to cause an upset.

Casey welcomes some quality players for the match, including Demon spearhead Ben Brown, and Kade Chandler to add another target and zip to the forward line.

Former Melbourne skipper Nathan Jones and Oskar Baker will be adding some extra grunt and dash into the midfield group.

From last week, Cory Machaya, Tom Freeman, Luca Goonan and Ryan Sparks have been all named emergencies, while Deakyn Smith is out with an ankle injury.

In a big game for both clubs, it should see some fantastic Sunday afternoon football.
