To complete the four-match draw, Melbourne will travel interstate and meet the Swans at the SCG in Round 5.

The AFL’s recommencement will come three months after the season opener, with a new 17-game fixture to be teased out at various stages during the year.

Check out all the details for Melbourne’s upcoming games below.

Round 2 – Carlton v Melbourne @ Marvel Stadium

Details: Saturday, 13 June – 4:35pm

Broadcast: Fox Footy

The Demons will resume their season with a second away game from as many matches after falling to West Coast by 27 points at Optus Stadium in Round 1.

This trip to the Docklands will be the first time Melbourne and Carlton face off under the roof since 2009, with the Dees winning their past four encounters at the MCG.

Round 3 – Essendon v Melbourne @ MCG

Details: Sunday, 21 June – 3:35pm

Broadcast: Channel 7/Fox Footy

For the first time in 2020, Melbourne will be playing on the MCG in Round 3 when it lines up against the Bombers.

While the Dees will only be playing each side once this year, that doesn’t change much for their rivalry with Essendon, as the two sides haven’t clashed twice in a season since 2005.

Round 4 – Melbourne v Geelong @ MCG

Details: Sunday, 28 June – 3:35pm

Broadcast: Channel 7/Fox Footy

Fresh off a seven-day break, the Demons will be back at the MCG in Round 4, playing their first home game of the season against the Cats.

Having faced Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on nine occasions in the last 11 years, the Demons will be pleased to avoid the trip down the highway this season.

Round 5 – Sydney v Melbourne @ SCG

Details: Sunday, 5 July – 3:35pm

Broadcast: Channel 7/Fox Footy

To conclude the four-week mini fixture, Melbourne will travel for a second time in five games to clash with the Swans.

It will be just the fourth time the Demons take to the SCG since 2007, but it’s a place that holds no fears for them, having beaten Sydney there last year.
