MELBOURNE is set to regain up to three Demons from injury to face the Gold Coast, with Christian Salem, Caleb Windsor and Changkuoth Jiath all named in the club’s extended squad.

Kade Chandler (hand) and Latrelle Pickett (concussion) will remain in Melbourne for the trip, while Lukas Cooke has been omitted.

Veteran Jake Melksham, first-year defender Xavier Taylor and ruck Max Heath are the three other potential inclusions to face the Suns.

Windsor and Jiath were both labelled tests on the club’s injury report this week, as was Bayley Fritsch who is also named in the 26-player squad.

Speed machine Caleb Windsor was unable to take on Geelong last week with groin soreness, while Jiath also missed the match with a lower leg tendon injury.

The matchup shapes to be the first time Christian Petracca will face his former side after missing the Round 4 clash with a hamstring injury.

Melbourne sits just inside the top six, leading the seventh-placed Western Bulldogs by percentage only, making each of the four remaining Demons regular season matches critical results.

The Demons also currently hold Gold Coast’s first round selection in the upcoming National Draft, giving the match extra importance.

The first siren will sound at 3:15pm AEST at People First Stadium on the Gold Coast, while Queensland-based Demon fans can see the players in action during Saturday’s captain’s run from 3:30pm.

Fans can enter Gate 6 from 3:15pm for the training run.
