MELBOURNE acadmey coach Kelly O'Donnell runs through the Melbourne-listed players who played for the Scorpions in the semi-final

Seniors

Werribee Tigers 16.17 (113) d Casey Scorpions 6.15 (51), Saturday, September 10, TEAC Oval (2.10pm)

Tom McDonald: Tom didn’t use the ball as well as he does with his normal efficiency, but he still had an impact on the game. He competed well, and ran and carried the ball out of defence.

Troy Davis: Troy had a solid performance in the back half. He stood up well under pressure.

Matthew Warnock: Matt had a good strong team game. He played under pressure at times, but competed well.

Max Gawn: Max started well, and was dominant in the tap ruck area. He gave good ball use to his on-ballers, and continued to try and compete strongly throughout the day.

Tom McNamara: Tom started strong, and was valuable at stoppage clearances early on, before he injured his calf and took no further part in the game.

Daniel Nicholson: Daniel took on a specific role in the back half early on, before moving into the midfield later in the game. He generated some forward scoring opportunities, and never gave in.

Robert Campbell: Rob’s been a valuable contributor all year, but on this occasion he lacked his normal influence, and really just failed to impact. However, he never gave up, and his determination was, as always, a credit to him.

Rohan Bail: Rohan ran strongly to provide linking opportunities, but he really needed to use the ball better in order to have greater influence on the game.

Jack Fitzpatrick: Jack failed to have any real influence. He went to the wing in the final quarter, and showed promising signs.

Matthew Bate: Matthew physically impacted the game, and showed good signs with solid marking. His decision making needed to improve on occasion, but he tried hard and competed for the whole day.

Lynden Dunn: Lynden failed to take his opportunities in front of goal, kicking three behinds. However, he kept trying, on what was a difficult day for forwards.
