MELBOURNE's young key forward Luker Kentfield has put pen to paper on a contract extension, committing to the Demons until the end of 2027.

After a standout start to the VFL season, kicking 20 goals from eight games, the 20-year-old earned his AFL call-up in Melbourne’s Round 13 victory over Collingwood.

Kentfield marked the occasion with his first AFL goal in front of more than 88,000 fans at the MCG and has since held his place in the side, featuring in every game since his debut.

AFL List Manager Tim Lamb said the club was excited to secure Kentfield’s future.

“Luker has worked extremely hard over the last few years to get to the level he is now,” Lamb said.

“His aerial ability and goal kicking have been outstanding at VFL level, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to develop his game at the club.”

Originally from Subiaco, Western Australia, Kentfield honed his craft through Carine Junior Football Club before being selected by Melbourne with Pick 11 in the 2024 Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
