LESS THAN two years into his AFL career, Narrm’s Harvey Langford keeps on proving that his talent can match it with the best.
Having joined the club as an inside mid, the Demon has now found himself settling in as the side’s premier winger.
The 20-year-old played a crucial role in Narrm’s 39-point win over Hawthorn on Saturday with 18 disposals, two goals and 526 metres gained.
“The wingers are great, I’ve been loving [the role] so much,” Langford said.
“Having played as an inside mid, I’ve just been working on that running tank, getting up for both offensive and defensive impact.
“It’s a lot of running up and back, so it’s nice to get reward and to get on the end of a couple.
“All the coaches have been helping me heaps with that.”
It was a statement win for the Dees, taking home their seventh victory of the season and pushing up the ladder to fifth.
Langford praised the efforts of his side and highlighted the hope it gives the Demons heading into the second half of the season.
“Coming into this week, we had a lot of preparation because we knew they were a great side with great talent,” Langford said.
“I’d definitely hoped that we were going to win today but to be able to win like that is definitely really special.
“To come and perform against a quality side like Hawks, there’s definitely hope entering the back end of the season and I can’t wait for what’s ahead.
“It’s a great step forward into what we want to achieve as a group.”
