YOUNGSTER Harvey Langford has signed a new two-year contract extension, committing to the red and blue until at least the end of the 2029 AFL season.

Langford, who made his AFL debut in 2025, has quickly established himself as an exciting young talent within the team.

Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb said the contract extension was a reward for Langford’s impact and the promise he has shown over the last 12 months.

“He’s an important part of our future and someone we believe will continue to grow with experience, consistency and time in our program,” Lamb said.

“Harvey had an excellent first season at AFL level and showed composure and competitiveness that stood out for a young player.

“He’s worked extremely hard since arriving at the club, and the way he applies himself on and off the field gives us great confidence in his growth and development.”

In his first season at AFL level, the 19-year-old enjoyed a standout year, finishing ninth in the Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Trophy and was awarded the Harold Ball Memorial Trophy as Melbourne’s Best First-Year Player.
