MELBOURNE AFLW players, Paxy Paxman and Sinead Goldrick will continue their careers in red and blue for another season, with the club veterans both signing one-year contracts.

Paxman, a five-time All Australian and Premiership player, continued her stellar form in season 2025. Playing more time on the wing, she averaged fifteen disposals, 2.3 tackles and 3.3 intercepts and didn’t miss a game all year.

The 37-year-old, also a two-time winner of the club’s Best and Fairest award, was last year honoured with Life Membership for her services to the Demons.

Goldrick first came across to Australia from Ireland for the 2020 season and quickly excelled as a cross-code athlete. She has played at the highest level in both Gaelic football and Australian Rules football.

The 32-year-old is a nine-time All Star, equivalent to the All-Australian honours, and was most recently rewarded in 2025.

Clare Pettyfor, General Manager - AFLW, praised the pair’s contribution to the team during their tenures.

“We are thrilled to see Paxy and Sinead sign on for another year, as the experience they offer to our playing group is incalculable.

“As a long-term member of our leadership group and an inaugural player, Paxy is someone who brings so much to our group both on and off the field and we rapt to see her go around again.

“Likewise, Sinead’s experience, pace and aggression are important assets to our team and we are excited to see what she can achieve in season 2026.

“In season 2026 we will enter a new era as an AFLW program, and we are thrilled to have the experience of Paxy and Sinead onboard.”
