EDEN Zanker will need to complete her concussion protocols if the forward is to play in this weekend’s Preliminary Final on Saturday.
Zanker entered concussion protocols following an incident in Melbourne’s qualifying final and subsequently missed last weekend’s win over Adelaide.
“Eden’s progressing well through the concussion protocols,” Josh Keily, Melbourne’s AFLW High Performance Manager, said.
“We’ll look to get her involved in main training towards the backend of this week and she’ll need to successfully complete this session if she is to be available for Saturday’s game.”
Dees’ defender Maeve Chaplin continues to work through her rehab of a hamstring injury.
“Maeve has ticked off a number of markers throughout her hamstring rehab and is doing all she can to return as quickly as possible,” Keily said.
“In what has been a tough time missing two finals, her professionalism and support for her teammates have been second to none.”
In extremely exciting news for Olivia Purcell, the Demon will look towards an early return to running after suffering an ACL injury during Round 2.
“Liv has officially completed the first stage of her rehab and has hit all her markers for a return to run,” Keily said.
“This is super impressive from Liv to be able to achieve this in the time she has. Now we just need to wait on an approval from her surgeon before her return to run.
“This is really positive news for Liv.”
Jacinta Hose (back) continues to work through her long-term rehab program.
