TAYLA Harris will need to prove her fitness this week after suffering a knock to her ribs during Round 9.

Harris came off during Melbourne’s match against Fremantle on Sunday, with the club’s AFLW High Performance Manager Josh Keily providing an update on the Demon.

“Tayla suffered a nasty knock during the fourth quarter,” Keily said.

“She was sent to hospital as a precaution but thankfully, was cleared of any major damage to her ribs, as well as any concussion concerns.

“We’ll monitor her this week in the lead up to our Sydney game.”

Forward Georgia Gall was also sidelined during the game against the Dockers, injuring her ankle in the opening term.

“Unfortunately, Georgia rolled her ankle during the first quarter,” Keily said.

“Scans cleared her of any major damage, and while she’s trending positively, it’s unlikely she’ll be available for Round 10.

“We’ll assess her further this week, and from there we’ll have a better understanding of what her return-to-play timeline will be.”

After injuring her finger during Round 8, Shelley Heath will be eyeing off a return in Round 10.

“Shelley saw a surgeon, and it was all positive,” Keily said.

“She’ll get back into football this week and will need to prove that she can complete the contact portion of training to be available for selection.”

Saraid Taylor (hamstring) and Sarah Lampard (calf) will also be hoping to put their hands up for selection this week.

“They’ve both returned to full training and will be available if they successfully complete the week,” Keily said.

After injuring her calf prior to Round 8, Blaithin Mackin is progressing well through her rehab.

“Blaithin’s building on her speed and change-of-direction capacity,” Keily said.

“She’s on track to return to football activities next week, with the hopes to be available in Round 11.”

Grace Beasley continues to work through the final stages of her long-term ACL rehab.

“Grace will re-test her key markers in two weeks’ time and is on track to be involved in match scrimmage during that same week,” Keily said.

Olivia Purcell (ACL) and Jacinta Hose (back) continue to work through their long-term rehab programs.
