MAX Gawn and Kysaiah Pickett have been named in the 2025 AFL All-Australian team.
The Demon duo feature in an exclusive line-up of 22, a group that is recognised as the leading players across all parts of the field.
The final team was announced as part of the AFL Awards on Thursday night.
Remarkably, this is the eighth All-Australian jacket for Gawn who is among an elite group of players that have such an honour, He sits among the likes of Robert Harvey, Gary Ablett Jr and Lance Franklin in having reached this feat.
He continues to hold Melbourne’s record for the most All-Australian titles, ahead of AFLW great Paxy Paxman on five.
This season saw the Melbourne skipper continue to be a pillar of strength for the Dees’ AFL side, stepping up in moments when the team needed him most.
Gawn’s numbers across the season highlight just how influential he remains at 33 years of age, averaging 20 disposals, five clearances and close to six marks per match, well above his career benchmark. In the ruck, he continued to be one of the best at the contest with an average of 35 hit-outs.
This is a maiden selection for Pickett and true recognition of the career-best season he’s had in 2025, cementing himself as one of the premier small forwards in the game.
While predominately shining inside 50, the 24-year-old thrived with more responsibility in the midfield, averaging close to 20 disposals and two goals a game, the first player to do so since 2011.
