MELBOURNE has confirmed a historical double milestone moment as Max Gawn and Tom McDonald both reach the rare 250 game mark against Carlton on Sunday.

Gawn and McDonald will become just the 10th and 11th of 1390 players to represent the red and blue to reach the 250-game mark.

McDonald has done it all as he begins the 16th season of his career at the top level, excelling at both ends of the ground and leading the club in goalkicking in 2018 while also spearheading the attack in the side’s 2021 premiership season.

The running machine began his career as a key defender, named as the club’s best young player, finishing sixth in Rising Star voting and securing a podium club best and fairest finish in 2012.

The Edenhope product also finished third in the Bluey Truscott Memorial Trophy in 2015 while securing a fifth-placed finish in 2018.

McDonald became a Melbourne Football Club life member in 2020.
