TOM McDonald is locked in for his 16th campaign, signing on with the Demons for the 2026 AFL season.
The 32-year-old put pen to paper on a fresh deal this week, following another consistent year in the backline with 17 senior appearances.
Season 2025 saw McDonald, who switched back to defence last year after seven seasons up forward, average 14 disposals at 85 percent kicking efficiency, seven intercepts and six marks a game.
His efforts secured him another year in the red and blue, with the club thrilled to extend the premiership Demon.
“We’re really pleased to offer Tom another contract, following a strong season at AFL level,” AFL List Manager Tim Lamb said.
“Tom is as committed as they come – to not only getting the best out of himself and his body, but also those around him. His preparation, as well as his desire to contribute and play whatever role is required of him, is second to none.
“Tom is the ultimate clubman, who has given his all over the past 16 years, and we’re excited to be adding another chapter in 2026.”
McDonald, who even managed to add a major to his 170-goal tally this year, has tallied 249 games in the red and blue, having made his debut in 2011.
The Edenhope product was drafted by Melbourne with pick No.52 in the 2010 National Draft, and joins Jake Melksham in recently signing on for 2026.
