HARRISON Petty has been cleared from major injury after undergoing scans on his ankle.

After being subbed out early in Sunday’s game, Petty will work his way into main training to prepare for Melbourne's trip to the Northern Territory.

The club’s High Performance Manager Selwyn Griffith provided an update on the Demon on Tuesday afternoon.

“Harrison sustained an ankle injury at the back of the third quarter,” Griffith told Melbourne Media.

“We tried to get him back on to finish the game. He was able to get back on to the field but just felt that he didn’t have the same power that he usually would.

“So, we made the decision to sub him out, and scans have cleared him of any major damage.

“He’ll just work to return to training on our main training session on Thursday and look to be available for selection for this weekend.”

Tom Fullarton was a late withdrawal from Sunday’s emergency list, being replaced by Ben Brown.

“Tom was planning to play in our VFL team as part of our emergencies but had some hamstring tightness on Captain’s Run,” Griffith said.

“Scans showed he had a very low-grade hamstring strain. He’s returned to running and ran well today, so we will look to integrate him into training to assess his availability ahead of this weekend.”

Daniel ‘Disco’ Turner, who had impressed in the forward line before sustaining a calf injury, has made a speedy return to availability ahead of this weekend’s game in Alice Springs.

“Disco completed a match load session on the weekend and recovered well from that, so he’ll integrate into main training this weekend and look to be available for selection this week,” Griffith added.

Josh Schache (foot), Jake Lever (knee), Marty Hore (calf), Jake Melksham (knee) and Charlie Spargo (Achilles) are all successfully progressing through their respective rehab
programs.
