IN A high-octane clash at Casey Fields, the Casey Demons fought till the end but ultimately fell short against the Sandringham Zebras, who secured a 13-point victory.
Both teams showcased exceptional attacking football, thrilling supporters with a combined total of 31 goals.
The first half was a gripping affair, characterised by a constant shift in momentum as both sides traded goals. The Demons and Zebras were neck and neck, with Sandringham holding a narrow lead of just four points at halftime.
The Zebras came out firing in the third quarter, extending their lead by kicking seven goals to Casey's two. This burst put the Demons on the back foot, trailing by 28 points heading into the final term.
Mitch White displayed exceptional leadership, igniting a comeback in the fourth quarter. White, who had a phenomenal game with 38 disposals and two goals, spurred his team to kick five consecutive goals, bringing Casey within a single point of Sandringham.
Matt Jefferson was a standout up forward for Casey, booting an impressive five goals.
Bailey Laurie also made significant contributions, scoring two goals and collecting 25 disposals.
Ben Brown's presence was felt with three goals, while Mitch Szybkowski and Paddy Cross added one goal each to the tally.
