There are a range of ways you can get to the MCG
Driving
When operational, public parking in Yarra Park at the MCG is available for $15, payable by EFTPOS only.
Please refer to the car park opening schedule for the most up to date information and times the car park is operating.
When Yarra Park is not in operation, there are alternative parking options, including Melbourne Park Eastern Plaza Car Park, Wilson Parking, and Federation Square, as well as metered parking available around Fitzroy Gardens, the Botanical Gardens and along the Yarra River. Public transport
Train
Jolimont Station: take the Hurstbridge or Epping lines to reach Jolimont Station
Richmond Station: To get to Richmond Station from the City, take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston, or Sandringham lines.
Tram
No. 75 and 48 trams: The No. 75 (City to Vermont South) travels along Flinders St and connects with the eastern suburbs via Wellington Parade. The No. 48 (Docklands/City to North Balwyn) travels along Collins Street and connects with the eastern suburbs via Wellington Parade.
No. 70 tram: The No. 70 (Docklands/City - Wattle Park) travels along Flinders Street then detours via Melbourne Park. The tram stop is a short walk across the footbridge to the MCG.
Bus
The Bus route 246 is run by National Bus Company, which links La Trobe University with Elsternwick Station in a useful service for patrons from the northern and southern suburbs. The 246 stops along Punt Road.
Depending on the type of ticket you have for the match will determine where you sit.
General Admission ticket holders
For most Melbourne home games at the MCG, the public reserve will include seating on level 1 and level 4 of the Olympic Stand, Ponsford Stand, and Shane Warne Stand. However, for Round 7 (ANZAC Day Eve) and Round 13 (King's Birthday) blockbuster matches, the public reserve may only be located on level 4.

Reserved or allocated seat holders
If you have a ticket with an allocated seat, please proceed to the gate number listed on your ticket. From there, you can ask a friendly staff member where to find your seat, or you can view your seat on the map here.

Bringing your own food
You are allowed to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks into the MCG, but you cannot bring glass, cans, or knives (including cheese knives).
You can bring sealed, plastic containers of water (up to a maximum of 1.5L), and you can refill your bottles water from any open bar or with the water stations throughout the MCG.
Bag checks and wanding will be completed upon entry, and any prohibited items will be confiscated.

Sensory friendly space
Located within the Australian Sports Museum on Level 1 (inside Gate 3, behind bay M51) this is a space for patrons of all ages who have sensory sensitivities, processing differences, or other hidden disabilities (e.g. autism, acquired brain injury, mental illness, PTSD, dementia).

Multi-Faith Prayer Room
Located on Level B1 of the Shane Warne Stand (at approximately M13), the room is able to cater for more than 50 patrons at one time, and is suitable for patrons of all faiths including Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Hindu.
