IN: 2021 Third Round Pick

OUT: Mitch Hannan

MELBOURNE has honoured Mitch Hannan’s trade request, sending the left footer to the Western Bulldogs on Tuesday morning.

With a greater opportunity on offer at the Dogs, Hannan made the decision to leave the club he has been at for the past four years, having played 50 games at senior level to this point of his career.

In return for the crafty forward, the Demons have secured a Future Third Round Pick from the Bulldogs, which is an important acquisition given they have already traded three of next year’s selections.

This marks Melbourne’s first player movement of the 2020 Trade Period, with GM of Football Josh Mahoney pleased with the result for both parties.

"Mitch joined us as a mature age recruit and he has been a valuable contributor over four years," he told Melbourne Media.

"This is a great opportunity at the Western Bulldogs and we wish him all the best and thank Mitch for his contribution to the club."

Hannan was recruited from Footscray's VFL side, joining the Dees with pick No.46 in the 2016 National Draft.

The 26-year-old kicked 55 goals as a half-forward, with his most memorable moment coming in the 2018 Elimination Final win over Geelong.
