NORTH Melbourne forward Ben Brown is hoping to join the Demons this off-season, making his intentions known on Monday afternoon.

The Kangaroos told Brown to explore his options on the back of a difficult 2020 season, and after reportedly receiving interest from multiple clubs, Melbourne is his destination of choice.

But the Dees will need to facilitate a trade to secure the star goal kicker, as he doesn’t qualify for Free Agency.

Brown faced challenges on and off the field this year, managing just nine games as a result, but his talent can’t be questioned.

The 27-year-old kicked over 60 goals in the three seasons prior to 2020, and has booted 287 majors across his 130-game career.

Since debuting against the Demons as a mature-aged recruit seven seasons ago, the Tasmanian-born footballer has become one of the most reliable key forwards in the competition, known for his marking on the lead and accurate set shot kicking.

At 200cm, Brown will be a valuable addition to Melbourne’s forward line, should the club be able to land him during the upcoming Trade Period, commencing on Wednesday.
