A WIN OVER Adelaide in Round 10 has seen six Demons poll in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

Midfielder Clayton Oliver was the best player on the ground according to the coaches, with his standout performance at Adelaide Oval earning him a perfect 10 votes.

After copping criticism in recent weeks, the 23-year-old finished with 34 disposals, 22 of which were contested, 11 clearances and six tackles in his side’s 51-point victory.

He also managed five scoring involvements and a goal.

Jack Viney was the next best for Melbourne, receiving seven votes for his 22-disposal effort on Wednesday night.

The vice-captain kicked two goals, while recording seven scoring involvements and eight clearances.

Strong-bodied defender Steven May was also recognised for his performance down back (six votes), while Christian Petracca (three votes), Sam Weideman (two votes) and Christian Salem (two votes) rounded out the top performers.

Petracca remains in second position on the interim leaderboard with 40 votes, while Brisbane’s Lachie Neale sits atop (62 votes). The leaderboard is currently being updated following each day’s matches.
