CAPTAIN Brad Green will face a fitness test in the lead-up to Sunday’s twilight clash against Richmond at the MCG.
Green was a late withdrawal from Melbourne’s loss against West Coast Eagles at Etihad Stadium last round.
It was the first match Melbourne’s most experienced player had missed this season.
Young midfielder Jordan Gysberts, who missed round 21 with a wrist injury, will now miss the rest of the season.
Gysberts had surgery on Tuesday, after it was revealed he had a fracture in his scaphoid. But he will be available for the start of next pre-season.
Forwards Liam Jurrah (hip) and Addam Maric (ill) also face fitness tests this round.
Versatile tall Michael Newton (foot) will miss another week.
And as expected, Jack Grimes (foot), James Strauss (leg) and Jake Spencer (knee) will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Jack Grimes (foot) - season
Gysberts (wrist) - season
