MELBOURNE has drafted outstanding young midfielder Christian Salem with its first selection – pick No.9 – in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.
Salem is a strong and damaging midfielder by foot from the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup.

The 18-year-old can hurt the opposition with pinpoint kicks inside 50 and averaged 15 disposals and a goal in his four games at the under-18 championships and was noted for his competent decision-making.
Salem's size makes him dangerous in and around the contest. He is a good overhead mark and when the opportunity arises rarely misses when in front of goal.
