FIVE players will pull on the red and blue guernsey for the first time this weekend, with Melbourne naming its final team for Sunday’s clash against West Coast.

Former Bomber and Cat Mitch Brown is set to make his Demon debut, joining Toby Bedford, Kysaiah Pickett, Ed Langdon and Adam Tomlinson in their first matches for the club.

Marty Hore, Sam Weideman, Luke Jackson and Tom Sparrow have all been named as emergencies.

Adding some versatility to the Demons’ list, Brown will be eager to impress against a quality Eagles outfit.

The 29-year-old featured in Melbourne’s Marsh Community Series match against Adelaide, proving to be a target up forward, and will be looking to replicate his impact on Sunday.

Bedford and Pickett are hoping to provide just as much spark in their first senior outings, while fans will get a glimpse of what high-profile recruits Langdon and Tomlinson will bring.

With only 17 games to be played this season, an interstate victory would be a significant win for the Demons.

Be sure to tune in on Fox Footy from 6pm AEDT to catch all the Round 1 action.
