MIDFIELDER Dom Tyson, key forward Chris Dawes, tough-nut Jack Viney and defender Neville Jetta are all in the mix to return for Melbourne’s clash against Port Adelaide at Traeger Park on Saturday.

Elite performance manager Dave Misson said the four players were chances to come back from injury this round.

Tyson (knee) and Dawes (calf) missed Melbourne’s win over the Bulldogs at the MCG last round, while Viney has missed the past six matches with a fractured fibula and Jetta has been sidelined for the previous four rounds, due to concussion.

Misson said Tyson and Dawes will face fitness tests for the Alice Springs encounter, but he added Viney and Jetta were available for selection.

“Dom Tyson, who missed last weekend with a knee – a MCL (medial collateral ligament) tweak that he had the previous week – ran really well [on Tuesday] and we expect him to train Thursday and be available [this round],” he told Dee TV.

“Chris had a good session [on Monday] and he’s someone we want to see training on Thursday, but we expect him to be available.

“Nev saw a specialist last week and cleared him to play this week. He’s done some really good training the last four weeks and he’ll be up for selection this week.

“Jack [who is also available for selection] has done some really good work in the last month and he’s up for selection this week.”
