THE DEES could be bolstered by the return of Kate Hore this weekend, with the skipper set for a fitness test prior to Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs.
Hore has missed the past three matches due to a neck injury and will need to get through training this week to be available in Round 11.
“Kate has started to integrate into some training now that her symptoms have settled,” said Josh Keily, the club’s AFLW High Performance Manager.
“She’ll need to get through full training at the back end of this week to be available.”
In more positive news, young Demon Amelia Dethridge will also look to pass a fitness test to be available for selection. She has been sidelined for the past six weeks following surgery on a torn meniscus.
“Amelia has ticked off portions of full training and will now continue to full train for the remainder of this week,” Keily said.
“If all goes to plan, then she’ll be available for selection.”
First-year Demon Lauren Clifton has started progressing through her rehab of a foot injury.
“It’s been great to see Lauren out of a moon boot,” Keily said.
“She’s now started to progress through to some plyometric exercises, so is tracking well through her rehab.”
Tall forward Mia Austin has returned to the club following surgery on her throat, as she begins the road back to footy.
“It was great to have Mia back in at the club this week following her surgery,” Keily said.
“Mia’s been in great spirits, and she’s now started some strength work alongside low-level plyometric exercises.
“She’ll have her review with the surgeon this week, and we’ll have more of an idea of her timeline to return following that consult.”
Eliza McNamara, who has been sidelined since Round 4 with a fractured jaw, has been ramping up her rehab.
“Eliza is tracking well and it’s been great to have her around the club,” Keily said.
“She’s been building her running loads in addition to ticking off her strength work, both really positive progressions.”
Saraid Taylor (calf), Chloe Baker-West (leg) and Grace Beasley (ACL) all continue to work through their respective rehab programs.

“Chloe is smashing her AlterG running. We’ll look to reintroduce her to running on-field this week, which is awesome to see. She’s ticking along nicely.”
