MELBOURNE will be without Lauren Clifton this week after the Demon injured her foot during Round 6.
AFLW High Performance Manager Josh Keily said Clifton would undergo further assessment.
“Unfortunately, Lauren got her foot caught in a tackle during the fourth quarter,” Keily said.
“She’ll require further assessment this week to determine the extent of the injury to her foot.”
Georgia Gall and Georgia Campbell were also sidelined during Saturday’s game, with both Demons set for fitness tests prior to Friday’s match against North Melbourne.
“Georgia [Gall] unfortunately rolled her ankle during the third quarter,” Keily said.
“While she pulled up okay, we took a conservative approach and removed her from the remainder of the game.
“She’ll aim to train on Wednesday with the hope to be available in Round 7.
“Georgia [Campbell] copped a knock to the throat in the final minutes of the match. She spent some time in hospital on Saturday and has come out with some damage to her vocal cords.
“She’ll remain on vocal rest for the start of this week but will also aim to train Wednesday to hopefully be available for selection.”
Sinead Goldrick, who suffered an MCL injury during Round 4, is ticking off important milestones in her recovery.
“Sinead has been moved to a smaller knee brace, which is a positive progression,” Keily said.
“We’re hoping to see her return to running towards the back of this week.”
Saraid Taylor (calf) and Jacinta Hose (ankle) are both closing in on their returns.
“Saraid and Jacinta are both tracking well through their respective rehab programs,” Keily said.
“They’re both ramping up their running volumes and have integrated into modified training.
“Saraid will look to build into some more training on Wednesday, with the chance to be available for selection in Round 7.”
Amelia Dethridge, who underwent surgery on a torn meniscus, will look to ramp up her rehab over the next fortnight.
“Amelia had a follow-up appointment with her surgeon which was positive,” Keily said.
“She’ll now start to get into some strength work this week and then will prep to run next week.”
Eliza McNamara has returned to the club following surgery on her fractured jaw.
“Eliza is recovering well from surgery, and it’s been great to have her back at the club,” Keily said.
“Our focus is on supporting Eliza, and we will give her all the care and time she needs in her recovery."
In positive news for Lauren Pearce, the ruck will return to the selection mix this week, ticking off her rehab of a knee injury.
Chloe Baker-West (leg) and Grace Beasley (knee) both continue to work through their respective rehab programs.
