The Casey Demons came together on Thursday night to celebrate the 2026 seasons of their VFL and VFLW teams and recognise the standout individual performances of the year.

Players, coaches, staff and supporters gathered to reflect on the highs and challenges of the season, while celebrating the achievements of those who made a significant impact both on and off the field.

With a number of awards presented across both teams, the evening provided an opportunity to recognise the hard work, commitment and contributions that shaped the Demons’ 2026 campaigns.

VFLW

Trademark and Values Award - Alice Robinson

Appointed as co-captain this year, Alice Robinson led from the front both on and off the field throughout the season. She played an important role in guiding the team while continuing to make an impact on game day. Robinson also finished the season as Casey’s second-highest goal kicker, highlighting her ability to contribute on the scoreboard. 

Rising Star Award - Lily Snow

Lily Snow made an immediate impact in her first season with the Demons, showcasing her versatility across both the midfield and defence. Her ability to move between the two positions provided valuable flexibility for the side throughout the year. Snow finished the season averaging the third-most disposals for Casey. 

Third Runner Up - Kasey Phillips 

Despite missing games through injury, Kasey Phillips still put together a season that stood among Casey’s best. Her defensive work was a feature throughout the year, consistently making an impact with her ability to read the play and intercept the opposition. Phillips’ strong marking and composure in defence made her a reliable presence across the backline. 

Runner Up - Tylah Burn

Tylah Burn dominated through the midfield across the season, making her presence felt with her relentless pressure and tackling. She averaged the most tackles per game of any player in the competition, highlighting the intensity she brought to every contest. Burn was also a strong clearance player, consistently attacking the game and helping drive Casey forward from the middle.

Best and Fairest - Meg MacDonald 

Meg MacDonald entered rare air in 2026, becoming a three-time consecutive Best and Fairest winner. The co-captain continued to lead from the front throughout the season, producing another consistent campaign through the midfield and earning selection in the 2026 VFLW Team of the Year squad. Her experience and leadership were invaluable both on the field and in helping guide her teammates throughout the season.

VFL

Trademark and Values Award - Miller Bergman 

In his first season at Casey, Miller Bergman made an immediate impact across half back after returning to football following an ACL injury. His experience proved valuable throughout the season, both through his performances on the field and his leadership around the club

Steve Harrison Rising Star Award - Jarrod Gatt 

Jarrod Gatt cemented his place in Casey’s lineup this season, showcasing his explosive pace and ability to break the game open from the wing. His run and carry provided an important outlet for the Demons, while his ability to hit the scoreboard added another dimension to his game. Gatt consistently looked dangerous when given space to attack.

Third Runner Up - Ricky Mentha Junior

Ricky Mentha Junior put together a strong season, spending much of the year across half-back while showing his versatility by also swinging forward when required. His ability to find plenty of the football and use it effectively by foot made him a consistent contributor for the Demons. 

Runner Up - Luis D'Angelo 

In his first year at Casey, Luis D'Angelo stepped straight into the midfield and quickly made his mark against experienced VFL and AFL opposition. He led the Demons for clearances, proving his ability to win the ball at the source. He also finished third at the club for disposals, capping off an impressive debut season for the Demons. 

Gardner Clark Medallist - Jack Henderson

Jack Henderson enjoyed an outstanding and consistent season, establishing himself as one of Casey’s most reliable performers throughout the year. He consistently found plenty of the football, won clearances and applied strong pressure through his tackling, while also proving dangerous around goal. Henderson’s ability to influence games in multiple areas made him a key contributor to the Demons’ midfield and a standout performer across the season.
