MELBOURNE young forward Bailey Laurie will remain a Demon until at least the end of 2027 after signing a one-year contract extension.

Laurie has enjoyed a career-best season in 2026, playing 17 senior games, his highest tally since making his AFL debut in 2023.

Melbourne AFL List Manager Tim Lamb praised Laurie for the work he has put in throughout the year.

“Bailey has been impressive to watch this year.

“He has worked hard to earn his place in the side, and his development this year is a credit to his work rate and determination.

“We look forward to what Bailey can produce after another strong pre-season.”

The 24-year-old produced one of the standout performances of his career in Round 22, kicking three goals in Melbourne’s victory over minor premiers Fremantle.

Known for his smart footwork and attacking creativity, Laurie has continued to develop his game and establish himself in Melbourne’s senior side.

Originally selected with Pick No. 22 in the 2020 National Draft from the Oakleigh Chargers, Laurie has also developed through the Casey Demons’ VFL program.
