ELIZA McNamara has undergone surgery on a fractured jaw.
The Demon was sidelined following a collision during Melbourne’s match against Port Adelaide on Sunday with Josh Keily, the club’s AFLW High Performance Manager, providing an update on the Demon.
“Eliza was involved in an incident during the fourth quarter and, unfortunately, sustained a fracture to her jaw,” said Keily.
“She is now recovering from surgery and has already had a few visitors from the club. She’s in good spirits and is keen to attack her rehab as soon as she can.
“A timeline for her return is still to be confirmed once she recovers from surgery.”
Lauren Pearce (knee) and Jorja Livingstone (wrist) are both set for fitness tests this week as they look to be available for selection in Round 6.
“Jorja was put through her paces in a big session on the weekend and she smashed it,” Keily said.
“She’ll integrate into full contact training on Wednesday, with the view to be available for selection.
“Lauren also ticked off a big session on the weekend and is looking to full train on Wednesday with the hopes to be available for selection.”
Saraid Taylor continues to work through an injury to her calf, which has kept her sidelined this season.
“Saraid has been managing a complex calf injury,” Keily said.
“We’ve taken a conservative approach with her rehab and, thankfully, some of her symptoms are beginning to settle. She’s now started her re-loading, building up her running capacity.”
Sinead Goldrick, who suffered an MCL injury during Round 4, will remain sidelined for the next month.
“Following consultation with specialists, Sinead didn’t require surgery on her MCL,” Keily said.
“She remains in a knee brace, letting symptoms settle before we build up her rehab.”
Amelia Dethridge will be sidelined for up to seven weeks after undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus.
“Amelia is recovering from that knee surgery,” Keily said.
“We’ll wait for the swelling to go down before starting to strengthen that knee back up for a return to run.”
Grace Beasley, who suffered an ACL injury during pre-season, has integrated back into the club following surgery.
“It’s great to see Grace back involved from a game day point of view,” Keily said.
“She was the player phone role on our bench on Sunday, which will be a role she’ll take on for the remainder of the season.”
Jacinta Hose (ankle) and Chloe Baker-West (leg) continue to work through their respective rehab programs.
