Tyla Hanks was among Melbourne’s best, bringing her trademark intensity around the ball while providing plenty of drive through the middle of the ground.
Hanks’ pressure was a standout feature of her game, also finding the scoreboard in a well-rounded performance.
Fellow midfielders Kate Hore and Shelley Heath also impacted around the contest, with both applying strong pressure and creating opportunities forward of the ball.

Ryleigh Wotherspoon continued to build on an impressive pre-season, showcasing her speed and pressure inside forward 50.
The young forward looked dangerous throughout the afternoon, highlighted by her ability to close down opponents and impact both with and without the ball.

Having overcome two ACL tears and back surgery, Hose showed promising signs and demonstrated the versatility that has made her an exciting prospect since joining the club.
Off-season additions Jordyn Allen and Lauren Clifton also had strong moments in their first hitouts against opposition as Demons.
Allen showed her class and composure, while Clifton continued to settle into her new colours with a solid performance.
