MELBOURNE'S annual journey to the Red Centre is underway, with the Demons arriving on Arrernte Country ahead of Sunday's clash with GWS in Alice Springs.
Day One | Simpson's Gap & Alice Springs
The club's first day in the Northern Territory began at the breathtaking Simpsons Gap, where players and staff gathered to connect with and learn more about the region's rich cultural history.
Arrernte Traditional Owners Doreen and Audrey McCormack welcomed the travelling group with a moving Welcome to Country, sharing stories and knowledge that have been passed down through generations.
The experience provided a meaningful introduction to Melbourne's time in Alice Springs, offering an opportunity to reflect on the significance of Arrernte Country.
Following the morning's visit, the Demons made their way to Traeger Park for their Captain's Run ahead of Sunday's encounter with the Giants.
The afternoon also featured a special performance in language from the Ntaria Choir, whose music added to the warm community atmosphere surrounding the club's arrival in Alice Springs.
The day provided a meaningful start to another visit to a region that has become a home away from home for the Demons.
