THE DEES will open their 2026 AFLW Season with a battle against 2025 top-four side the Hawks.
Melbourne will face Hawthorn on Thursday 13 August at 7:15pm, kickstarting their campaign at IKON Park.

The game will be the second of the league's opening round, with the AFLW confirming earlier this week that the Round 1 fixture would be split across two weekends, accounting for a double-header between St Kilda and Carlton during the AFL's Round 22 fixture.
Fast forward to Round 7 and the Dees will then be facing off with back-to-back reigning premiers North Melbourne in a blockbuster match on the eve of the AFL Grand Final.
The IKON Park game will see the Dees host the Roos for a redemption game, the first time the two sides have faced each other since their thrilling preliminary final match last year.
