Melbourne President Brad Green has penned a letter to members ahead of the club's Annual General Meeting.

Dear Members,

As we approach the business end of the AFLW season it certainly is an exciting time for all of us whose hearts beat true. Our W program continues to perform strongly and it was great to see Mick, Kate and the team notch up their eighth win of the season on Saturday. The win on the weekend secured our return to finals football, but with two home and away matches remaining I know the team remains focused on finishing out the regular season strongly. The passion, excitement and energy of our W program is certainly infectious and I hope you are enjoying riding the wave with them this season as much as I am.

Alongside the AFLW season, the recent AFL Trade Period has brought a great sense of excitement and optimism about what lies ahead. Our List Management team has worked hard to strengthen our list and put us in a position where we can compete and aim for that next AFL Premiership. This period can be challenging for everyone involved, including players, staff, members and supporters. I want to assure you that every decision was made with the best interests of the Melbourne Football Club at heart.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 16 December, in the Members’ Dining Room at the MCG. The Annual General Meeting will include a Members’ Football Forum and will provide an opportunity for members to hear directly from our football leaders including our new AFL Senior Coach, Steven King.

The evening will provide members with the chance to ask our leaders questions about our football programs and the Club. There will also be an opportunity to mingle with the Board and key leaders from across the club. I hope you can make it along on the night.

In the lead up to the AGM, the Club issues a call for nominations for Directors. This will occur in approximately one week’s time.

We continue to make positive progress with the club’s long term homebase within the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve. This project is a top priority for the club and we will provide a further update at the AGM.

As always, thanks for your ongoing support. I look forward to seeing you at the footy over the next month.

Go Dees,
Brad Green
