IN - Petty, Melksham, Johnson
OUT - Tholstrup, Jefferson, van Rooyen (omitted)

NARRM has recalled first-year forward Aidan Johnson for his third AFL outing and the club’s trip north to Brisbane to take on the ladder-leading Lions.

The key position Demon is joined by Jake Melksham and Harry Petty, returning to the side in place of Jacob van Rooyen, Koltyn Tholstrup and Matthew Jefferson (all omitted).

Johnson’s recall comes on the back of a strong patch of VFL form, generating seven scoring shots for 3.4 against Richmond VFL and another 2.2 last week against Footscray.

The 25-year-old started the season in the senior side and impressed in his time as a backup ruck, before heading to Casey to rediscover his form as the Werribee premiership forward that led to his drafting last year.

Veteran Melksham will make the trip north after he was managed for last week’s clash with the Hawks.

Swingman Harry Petty also missed against Hawthorn through the concussion protocols, suffering a head knock in his last outing against Waalitj Marawar.

The Demons will be looking to jump back on the winners’ list as they travel up to the Gabba to face the reigning premiers, the first bounce set for 3:20pm.

The game will be Narrm’s first of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, which runs over two weeks and looks to celebrate and acknowledge the important impact of First Nations People on the football landscape.

Dees fans not making the interstate trip this weekend can tune into the game via the Seven Network, Fox Footy, or Kayo Sports.
