MAX Gawn is sitting equal fourth in the race for the 2025 AFLCA'S Champion Player Award.

The skipper has shown that in his 16th season at the top level, he still hasn't reached his limits, starting this year with some of his best form to date.

In Melbourne's 32-point win over West Coast during Round 8, Gawn produced an arguably career-best performance tallying up 47 hit-outs, nine clearances and a career-high 35 disposals.

It was no surprise that the coaches rewarded him for this display, receiving the perfect 10 votes following the Saturday game.

Christian Petracca was also recognised by the coaches with eight votes, while Daniel Turner, Jack Viney and Kade Chandler rounded out the vote-getters with four apiece.

Saturday’s match was the second consecutive 10-vote game from Gawn, and the fifth overall in which the skipper has been recognised by the coaches.

Gawn now sits at a total of 33 votes on the overall leaderboard, behind Jordan Dawson (38), Nick Daicos (34) and Steele Sidebottom (34).
