MELBOURNE will introduce two new Demons this week when it takes on the Giants at IKON Park.
The Dees have named Delany Madigan and Sarah D’Arcy for their Thursday night match as they search for their second win of the 2024 season.
Madigan will line-up for her first AFLW game having only joined the competition just 10 months ago.
The 19-year-old first arrived at Melbourne during last year’s AFLW Draft with pick No.55, selected as a key defender from Eastern Ranges.
She’s known for her powerful strength, in particular her booming kick, and has used her time at the club to hone in on her defensive craft, now proving she’s ready for senior footy.
D’Arcy will play her first game for Melbourne but is set to add experience to the side with 43 AFLW games under her belt.
An inaugural AFLW player in 2017, the medium forward has played for Collingwood and Richmond, before settling at the Casey Demons this year in the VFLW.
D’Arcy has spent time training with Melbourne’s AFLW list and comes into the side this week selected as a top-up player due to the club’s injury impact.
The Dees are set to host the Giants for Thursday night footy at their inner-city home of IKON Park, the sunny weather and game day activities guaranteed to create a fun outing for all ages.
