MARTY Hore is set for a short stint on the sidelines after injuring his thumb during Melbourne’s Round 3 win over Port Adelaide.

Selwyn Griffith, the club’s High-Performance manager, provided an update on the defender.

“Following some imagery, scans have shown that he’s suffered a fracture to his thumb that requires surgery,” Griffith told Melbourne Media.

“It’s disappointing for Marty because he’s played a great role for us over the last few weeks, but hopefully he’ll only miss the next two games and look to be available as we come into our ANZAC Day Eve game.”

Kade Chandler also had some knee soreness out of the match, but Griffith is hopeful there will be no delay to the forward’s season.

“To give him the most amount of time for preparation for the Adelaide game, we chose to keep him away from the main group’s training session,” Griffith said.

“We’ll continue to assess him day-to-day and hopefully Kade will be available for selection for this week’s game.”

After sustaining two fractures to his ribs, and a small transverse process fracture during Round 2, Steven May is eyeing off availability for the club’s match against the Crows this Thursday.

“Steven trained on the weekend, completed a really great session,” Griffith said.

“He then integrated into training today, obviously it was a lighter session with the short turn around, so we’ll once again assess his availability on Wednesday at our captain’s run.”

Lachie Hunter (calf) and Daniel Turner (hip) have both completed full training, with a return to play on the horizon for the Demon duo.

“Lachie has returned to full training as of last week and will look to be available in the coming weeks,” Griffith said.

“Daniel also completed full training last week and will look to be available for our VFL game against Port Melbourne next week.”

Shane McAdam continues to work through a hamstring injury, taking positive steps forward re-joining the main group.

“Shane is beginning to integrate into training with the team,” Griffith said.

“He’ll continue to train with the group as we build him into being available for selection in the coming weeks.”

Charlie Spargo (Achilles), Jake Bowey (shoulder) and Jake Melksham (knee) are all continuing to progress their respective rehab schedules.
