INS – Spargo, Jordon, Woewodin (AFL debut)
OUTS – Fritsch (inj.), Harmes, J.Smith, Chandler (omitted)

MELBOURNE will face St Kilda with three inclusions to its final line-up.

It was announced on Wednesday that Taj Woewodin would make his AFL debut during the Round 17 clash, the 20-year-old following in the footsteps of his father, Shane playing 138 of his 200 senior games in the red and blue.

James Jordon has been called up for the Saturday night match after another dominant display in the VFL on Sunday.

The 22-year-old wowed on the stats sheet, with 41 disposals, nine inside 50s, seven clearances and an impact on the scoreboard.

Charlie Spargo has also re-entered the starting side, set to inject further depth to the team’s forward line.

Jake Melksham, who was the activated substitute during Sunday’s loss to GWS, has retained his spot in the 22.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that forward Bayley Fritsch would be sidelined for an extended period after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot.

Kade Chandler, Joel Smith and James Harmes have been omitted from Melbourne’s line-up, but will join Jacob van Rooyen on the team’s emergency list.

The Demons will be looking to collect their first win in three weeks, with inefficiency inside 50 a trend in recent weeks.

Senior coach Simon Goodwin vowed that the playing group was hard at work, focusing on correcting its inaccuracy in front of goals.

"We've had five weeks where we've kicked no more than eight goals, so we don't live under a rock and think it's not an issue," Goodwin said.

"If you can look outside right now and this is prior to training, we've got 30 blokes out there having shots at goal, running around poles.

“Choco is driving in a really big program for us and our high-performance team and is very supportive of how much goal-kicking we do.

"At some stage it's going to turn and we're going to start to get bang for buck on the back of our contest and defence and the scoreboard will start ticking over."

Melbourne will take on St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night from 7:25pm (AEST).
