TAYLA Harris and Eliza West have earned themselves top votes from the coaches in Melbourne's Round 5 win over Carlton.

After a week on the sidelines, Harris was a welcome return to the side, making an impact from the first bounce. The forward received nine votes after an ominous performance inside 50, kicking three goals and registering 11 disposals, five marks and nine hit-outs.

West, who also polled nine votes, continued her thread of dominant displays as an inside-mid, controlling the contest game through her strong stoppage work. She collected 20 disposals, alongside an impressive seven tackles.

Olivia Purcell (four votes) and Sarah Lampard (two votes) rounded out the Demons to receive recognition from the coaches on Friday night, with Carlton's Vaomua Laloifi (six votes) also acknowledged for her game in defence.

West currently sits 13th on the overall leaderboard, the highest of any Melbourne player this season.
